Arcipelago della Maddalena
Everyday sailboats and motor boats depart from Baja Sardinia to go on one of the most charming excursions of Costa Smeralda. The destination is the renowned Arcipelago di La Maddalena, protected marine reserve since 1994, consisting of more than sixty islands among which the beatiful Spargi and Budelli, accessible only by sea. The main islands, La Maddalena and Caprera, can be visited independently due to the sea links from Palau which is located 30-40 minutes away from Costa Smeralda.
Spaggia di Capriccioli
Other notorious beaches are: Capriccioli, winner of Tripadvisor “traveler’s choice 2018”. It is found within the bounds of Arzachena, it is reachable going past “Cala di Volpe” and it is one of the most charming beaches of Sardinia: the sea is emerald-green and the grey sand is incredibly fine creating a contrast with the yellow and pink granites. This fairy-tale place is completed by a dense mediterranean vegetation, characterised with junipers and pines.
Spaggia del Principe
To describe the “Spiaggia Del principe” instead, we are going to borrow the words of a tripadvisor user: “If you don’t have time and money to visit Maldives go to Spiaggia Del Principe”. Probably this is already enough to make you understand why the beach is a must visit location for those who are staying in Baja Sardinia. Interesting fact: the beach appears to take its name from the passion that Prince Karim al Husayni Aga Khan IV had for this little bit of sardinian paradise.
Liscia Ruja
Liscia Ruja, at last, is slightly different from the other ones, especially because of its longer extension. An area is, in fact, occupied by buildings, but it still won’t take much effort to find some hidden coves in case you need more freedom. Thanks to these equipped buildings tourists are able to rent kayaks, dinghys, canoes and to practice other water sports.

Baja Sardinia is also the perfect destination for family holidays and kids. The layout of the beaches and shallow water allow children to play in a completely safe environment, while the several amusement parks, among which the famous Aquadream water park, guarantee plenty of fun with slides and water games. Only 15 km away, in Cannigione, Bambilandia and another small luna park are considered a second wonderland for kids.
And at the end of the day, when feeling hungry, let you be tempted by the delicacies of the local gastronomy.
Obviously the ones we mentioned are only some of the beaches and sites that Costa Smeralda offers, but at the Residence reception we will be more than glad to suggest other locations such as historical towns and some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
